Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient function using formal and informal testing to determine musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status
• Develop goal-specific, evidence-based treatment plans and document them as part of the physician-authorized plan of care
• Submit written treatment regimes and update plans of care to reflect changes in patient status
• Devise frequency- and duration-specific treatment schedules and coordinate them with patients, families, and clinical support staff
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, prognosis, alternatives, and rationale for treatments and interventions
• Delegate, supervise, and provide oversight for Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides; co-sign verbal orders from PTAs as necessary

Qualifications

• Active Michigan physical therapy license required (must be active)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Physical therapy (PT) experience required
• Outpatient experience required; role is primarily outpatient with some acute care exposure
• Strong documentation skills and ability to submit timely, complete plans of care
• Work history and skills checklist current to 1 year required
• Two supervisory reference forms dated within the last two years required
• Facility requirement: candidates must have a permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
