Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule typically every other weekend plus two weekday night shifts (client uses a Sunday-Saturday schedule, may include Saturday or Sunday); 36 hours/week guaranteed with option for up to 48 hours if preferred; must be willing to float to other units

Candidate Pay Rate: $33 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care including bathing, grooming, toileting, and maintaining dignity
- Perform safe transfers and use mechanical lifts and transfer belts per plan of care
- Turn and reposition residents and maintain range of motion to prevent complications
- Obtain and report vital signs at the direction of licensed nursing staff
- Assist with dining, feeding, and transporting residents to the dining area
- Document care, incidents, and resident responses in electronic nursing charting accurately
- Respond promptly to call lights and unit alarms and conduct resident rounds each shift
- Follow infection control and safety policies and participate in the care planning process
- Attend required in-service and Relias training and maintain all required certifications
Qualifications
- Active MI CNA license (must be current on the Michigan registry)
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Minimum 1+ year CNA/PCT/LNA experience in LTC, SNF, or Med-Surg settings
- Must have completed at least one successful travel assignment (document on work history)
- Availability to start within requested timeline (RTO cannot exceed 5 days)
- Comfortable with animals on site (facility has dogs, cats, and aviaries)
- Flexible with scheduling and willing to float to units where experienced
- Current certifications and skills checklist (less than 1 year) and two supervisory references from the past two years
Knowledge & Skills
- Resident bathing, grooming, and hygiene assistance
- Patient transfers, mechanical lifts, and safe body mechanics
- Use of transfer belts, turning, repositioning, and range of motion support
- Obtaining vital signs (temp, BP, pulse) and reporting changes
- Feeding assistance and safe dining support
- Infection control practices and resident safety procedures
- Electronic nursing charting and accurate incident documentation
- Ability to follow resident plans of care and collaborate with licensed nurses
