Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Labor & Delivery nursing care, monitoring mothers and babies with attention and compassion
• Perform and interpret fetal monitoring (external and internal) to ensure timely interventions
• Start and maintain IVs, administer medications and blood products safely
• Assist and circulate for Cesarean sections and support patients through recovery
• Support neonatal care in the delivery room, including APGAR assessment and radiant warmer management
• Triage obstetrical patients and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for excellent outcomes
• Document accurately and promptly in Epic to maintain clear continuity of care
• Provide postpartum support including lactation assistance and wound/fundus assessments

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring: AWHONN Advanced preferred; NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong IV start skills and experience with infusion pumps/drips
• Ability and willingness to float to other units within the OSU organization as needed
• Previous travel experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Neonatal delivery-room care including APGAR scoring and cord sample collection
• Experience with IUPC, spiral electrode placement and internal fetal monitoring techniques
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring in obstetric settings
• Administration of blood & blood products and managing central lines (CVC / PICC)
• Strong clinical judgment in triage, labor management, and emergency situations
• Effective communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Proficient use of Epic for charting and patient documentation
