Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality physical therapy services according to individualized treatment plans
• Assess and document patient progress toward therapy goals using the EMR
• Provide clear and compassionate patient and family education to support recovery
• Oversee timely and accurate documentation to maintain department compliance
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-focused care
• Demonstrate flexibility and leadership in a fast-paced acute hospital environment

Qualifications

• CAPTE-accredited PTA degree (or degree from an accredited program approved by CAPTE)
• Current Maryland state licensure or eligibility for Physical Therapy practice in MD
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Minimum one (1) year hospital acute experience preferred; new graduates with strong acute clinical rotations encouraged to apply
• Proven ability with EMR documentation and strong time management skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care approach

Education

• CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate or Bachelor's level) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Treatment plan delivery and patient assessment in acute settings
• EMR documentation best practices and compliance
• Patient and family education to promote recovery and independence
• Experience across orthopedics, neurological, and critical care diagnoses
• One-on-one therapeutic care and lifespan-focused therapy delivery
• Leadership, flexibility, and strong interpersonal communication
