Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for medical-surgical patients
• Assess patient condition regularly and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor and document patient responses, vital signs, and clinical changes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Respond promptly to urgent situations and escalate concerns as needed
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and sharing best practices

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in New Hampshire or eligibility to obtain one
• Clinical experience on a Medical-Surgical unit (Med/Surg experience required/preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to unit scheduling needs
• Current immunizations and ability to pass required background and health screenings
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and standards of care
• Experience with medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
• Familiarity with electronic medical record charting and documentation standards
• Infection control practices and patient safety procedures
• Effective patient assessment, prioritization, and time management
• Collaborative approach to working with physicians, therapists, and support staff
