Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and treat pediatric patients with respiratory conditions using evidence-based respiratory care techniques
• Operate and monitor ventilators and airway management equipment, adjusting settings per clinician orders
• Deliver aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy and chest physiotherapy as appropriate
• Perform respiratory assessments, document findings in the medical record, and communicate changes to the care team
• Assist with arterial blood gas collection and interpretation in collaboration with providers
• Provide family-centered education and support to caregivers about respiratory care plans
• Participate in orientation and training activities to maintain competency in pediatric respiratory care

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio (or eligible to obtain state licensure)
• CRT or RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; PALS or pediatric certifications highly preferred
• Comfort and experience working with pediatric patients and their families
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to pass facility orientation and meet required health/screening checks

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric ventilator management and airway care
• Experience with aerosol delivery, oxygen therapy, and suctioning techniques
• Familiarity with arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation
• Solid documentation skills in electronic medical records
• Ability to educate families and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Calm under pressure, strong assessment skills, and attention to detail
