Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in PACU
Continuously monitor vital signs, assess airway and pain, and intervene as needed
Administer medications and IV therapies per protocol and provider orders
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary team for safe handoffs
Educate families on recovery expectations and discharge instructions in a clear, caring way
Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately and timely
Respond rapidly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns to appropriate team members

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact RN eligible
BLS required; PALS and ACLS preferred or strongly encouraged
Experience in PACU or pediatric post-anesthesia care preferred
Current immunizations and ability to pass required background and health screenings
Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric-focused post-anesthesia assessment and monitoring
IV medication administration and pediatric pain management
Airway support basics and rapid recognition of complications
Effective communication with families and interdisciplinary teams
Accurate clinical documentation and time management in a fast-paced setting
