Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Medical-Surgical unit
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
• Monitor patient status, intervene appropriately, and escalate concerns
• Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
• Educate patients and families about condition, care plan, and discharge needs
• Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, discharges, and transitions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligible for compact privileges
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or other certifications a plus
• Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical care preferred
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour per diem shifts and adapting to variable schedules
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and team collaboration skills
• Current immunizations and required health screenings per facility policy

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Effective documentation in electronic medical records
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Patient and family education with clear, empathetic communication
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
