Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts; specific start/end times vary by facility schedule (12-hour day or night shifts as assigned)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered Med/Surg nursing care on a 12-hour unit
Assess, monitor, and document patient status and response to treatment
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and discharge plans
Prioritize and triage patient needs in a fast-paced clinical environment
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate, timely documentation

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; eligible or active in Louisiana preferred
Recent Med/Surg clinical experience preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced certifications a plus
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and common medical-surgical conditions
Medication administration and IV therapy competency
Familiarity with EHR documentation and computerized charting
Infection control and patient safety best practices
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients effectively
Compassionate patient and family education skills
