Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, exercising excellent clinical judgment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and follow complex ICU care plans safely
• Continuously evaluate vital signs and hemodynamic data to guide treatment
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and adjust individualized care plans
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and changes in patient condition
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Participate in orientation and precepting to support new team members

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky (or compact RN as applicable)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Experience caring for critically ill patients in an ICU setting preferred
• Comfortable with ventilator management, titratable drips, and acute care interventions
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Ongoing continuing education and specialty ICU training encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing practices and ICU workflows
• Ventilator settings and respiratory support knowledge
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Proficient charting in electronic medical records
• Strong assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
