Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and treatments to patients with compassion
• Perform respiratory assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with the team
• Administer therapies and manage ventilators and airway support safely and effectively
• Monitor patient responses and document clinical changes clearly and promptly
• Educate patients and families about airway management, breathing techniques, and equipment use
• Participate in orientation and contribute to a positive learning environment for new staff

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri or ability to obtain state licensure
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred or achievable
• Previous clinical experience as an RT is preferred but new grads with strong training are welcome
• Comfort working in a collaborative, patient-focused hospital environment
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent from an accredited program
• Registry or credentialing preferred (e.g., CRT or RRT)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with ventilators, airway management, and common respiratory equipment
• Ability to perform patient assessments and interpret blood gases and respiratory data
• Skill in documenting care accurately in electronic medical records
• Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety principles
• Strong critical thinking and the ability to act quickly in urgent situations
