Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to acute care patients, including ventilator management
• Assess patient respiratory status and perform appropriate interventions such as airway management and bronchodilator therapy
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Perform diagnostic testing such as arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation
• Document clinical observations, treatments and patient responses accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care, equipment use and discharge plans

Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia or eligibility for licensure
• NBRC credential (CRT or RRT) preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Experience in acute care or hospital-based respiratory therapy preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a fast-paced team and prioritize care
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent from an accredited program
• Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy or healthcare-related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management and weaning skills
• Proficiency with arterial blood gas interpretation and respiratory assessments
• Familiarity with pulmonary function testing and oxygen therapy modalities
• Accurate electronic health record documentation and charting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for patient-centered care
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
