Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients of all ages
• Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize incoming patients in a fast-paced ED
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care thoroughly
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners and the interdisciplinary team to create and execute care plans
• Perform critical procedures and monitor patient responses, escalating concerns as needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Contribute to a culture of safety, continuous improvement and patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license in the state of Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Previous emergency department or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• IV insertion, medication administration and wound care competence
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients simultaneously
• Strong communication skills with patients, families and clinical teams
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Calm, decisive critical thinking in crisis situations
