Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
Document care thoroughly and maintain accurate medical records

Qualifications

Active RN license in Louisiana (or compact licensure as applicable)
Current BLS required; ACLS and other specialty certifications a plus
Clinical Med/Surg experience preferred (helpful for a smooth start)
Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and manage a fast-paced caseload

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

Solid Med/Surg clinical knowledge and acute care skills
Proficient in medication administration and IV therapy
Comfortable with patient monitoring and recognizing clinical changes
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and documentation skills
Familiarity with electronic health records and charting best practices
