Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Baltimore, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem nights (schedule varies), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living—bathing, dressing, grooming—with dignity and respect
Support safe mobility and transfers while encouraging independence
Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
Provide compassionate personal care and emotional support to residents and families
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and interventions
Practice infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification in the state of Maryland
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
Comfortable working night shifts and adapting to per diem scheduling
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, resident-first attitude

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of state-approved GNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on experience with ADLs and basic resident care
Ability to accurately observe, document, and escalate clinical changes
Familiarity with infection control practices and resident safety protocols
Good interpersonal skills and teamwork in a long-term care setting
Basic mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
