Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate patient care for medical/surgical and critical care patients from admission through discharge
• Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment including ventilators, multiple IV pumps, A-lines and invasive lines
• Assess patient conditions and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision
• Lead clinically on the unit, offering guidance and direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs and support staff
• Assist with precepting and mentoring new staff to promote high-quality care and team development
• Coordinate discharge planning and communicate effectively with providers, charge nurses and leadership
• Perform chest tube care and other specialized nursing tasks as required for critically ill patients

Qualifications

• Current Montana RN licensure (required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Recent critical care nursing experience and practice in an advanced medical/surgical unit (required)
• Experience with mechanical ventilation, central/A-lines, invasive lines and multiple IV pumps
• PALS, ENPC, TNCC certifications (preferred)
• Strong clinical leadership and precepting experience

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (degree from a nursing program required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced patient monitoring and assessment skills
• Proficiency with ventilator management and respiratory support
• Skill with invasive monitoring (A-lines), central lines and chest tube care
• Ability to manage multiple IV pumps and complex medication infusions
• Effective communication with interdisciplinary teams and leadership
• Clinical decision-making and ability to follow established protocols
