Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide engaging clinical education to long-term care staff across Sitka and Wrangell
• Partner with clinical leaders to design and standardize clinical competency programs
• Develop, select, and implement curriculum that supports policy and accreditation standards
• Support onboarding and preceptorships for new nurses and CNAs
• Evaluate and document competency completion and educational outcomes
• Collaborate with UAA and UAS student clinical programs and internal clinical education teams
• Apply evidence-based practices to improve nursing development and patient outcomes
• Serve as a liaison for consortium-wide clinical education initiatives and projects

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing required
• Current, full, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start)
• BLS for Providers required
• BLS Instructor certification preferred or must be obtained within 1 year of hire
• Clinical Competency Assessment required within 3 months of hire and maintained every 3 years
• Minimum 5 years professional nursing experience, with at least 2 years in long-term care
• 2 years clinical instructor/educator experience (one year may be substituted with supervisory experience)
• Ability to travel approximately 30% by jet, small aircraft, and ferry and lift up to 50 lbs

Education

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from an accredited school of nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Curriculum development and training program implementation
• Adult learning principles and facilitation skills
• Clinical competency assessment and standardization
• Evidence-based practice and quality improvement
• Strong oral and written communication
• Familiarity with TEAMS, Workday, Canva, Articulate, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clinical leaders
• Policy and accreditation standards compliance
