Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and manage the surgical services team to ensure safe, efficient perioperative care
Oversee circulating RN duties and coordinate with PACU to maintain smooth patient flow
Develop and implement short- and long-term solutions for departmental issues and process improvements
Supervise, delegate, and mentor staff to maintain high standards of clinical performance
Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and critical situations in the surgical department
Collaborate with physicians and ancillary departments to optimize patient care and operational efficiency
Monitor compliance with policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Current California RN license (required)
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (required)
Minimum of 5 years RN experience, including at least 2 years as a circulating RN in surgery (required)
AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and AHA PALS (required)
CNOR preferred
One year post-anesthesia care experience preferred
Previous leadership, supervisory or management experience preferred
Strong written and oral English skills and ability to maintain composure in emergencies
Able to sit/stand/walk up to 4+ hours/day and lift/carry up to 35 pounds

Education

Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing
Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Perioperative nursing and surgical services management
Circulating RN duties and post-anesthesia care coordination
Patient assessment, safety, and emergency response
Team supervision, delegation, and staff development
Problem identification, evaluation, and implementation of solutions
Strong verbal and written communication skills
