Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiography, mammography, CT and sonographic examinations for patients across the lifespan
• Operate and care for imaging equipment and perform routine quality control and maintenance
• Perform specimen radiography, breast needle localization and stereotactic breast biopsy assistance
• Ensure radiation protection principles are applied and patient safety is maintained
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with tele-radiology transmissions
• Assist with invasive/interventional procedures and prepare procedural setups as needed
• Participate in departmental quality assurance programs, inventory and supply ordering
• Provide excellent patient care and communication, including patient transfer and basic hygiene assistance

Qualifications

• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (required)
• BLS certification required within 45 days of start
• Clinical Competency assessment required within 3 months of hire and every three years
• Able to perform diagnostic exams for assigned modalities (mammography, CT, radiography, ultrasound)
• Willingness to rotate shifts, take call, and report to work within 20 minutes
• Must maintain competency in ancillary modalities as assigned by manager

Education

• Current ARRT in Radiography or ARDMS certification in a modality (as applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Mammography, CT, radiography and sonography image acquisition
• Radiation protection and quality assurance practices
• Specimen radiography and stereotactic breast biopsy support
• Sterile technique and venipuncture skills
• Tele-radiology transmission competency
• Equipment care, record maintenance and procedure assistance
• Comfort working with patients of all ages and cultural backgrounds
