Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe transfers and mobility assistance to reduce fall risk
• Monitor and record vital signs, behaviors, and any changes in condition
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in resident charts
• Communicate clearly with nurses, care team members, and families about resident needs
• Adhere to infection control practices and facility safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Comfort and availability to work overnight shifts
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient demeanor
• Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric settings is a plus
• Basic life support/CPR certification preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and ADLs
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
• Basic charting/EHR skills and attention to detail
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
