Location: Baltimore, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (varies), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Monitor and record vital signs and resident condition, reporting changes promptly
Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe use of assistive devices
Support mealtime assistance and basic nutritional needs with dignity
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident interactions
Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification in good standing
Valid state authorization to practice (Maryland) as required
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
Reliable attendance and ability to work overnight shifts as needed

Education

Completion of an approved GNA program or equivalent training
High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident dignity
Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility
Basic clinical skills: vitals, feeding assistance, hygiene care
Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
Good interpersonal skills for working with elders and families
Calm under pressure and able to prioritize resident safety
