Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support safe mobility and transfers while using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and families

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) and current documentation on file
• State-required background check and immunizations per facility policy
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and assisting with ADLs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in personal care, infection control, and safe resident handling
• Ability to accurately observe and document resident status and behaviors
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Basic charting and time-management skills in a clinical setting
