Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Provide compassionate, respectful care that preserves dignity and independence
• Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Document care delivered accurately and timely in facility records
• Support mealtimes and safe feeding practices, including assistance with trays and adaptive devices
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification in the state of Maryland (required)
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred but not required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
• Ability to work 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM evening shifts on a per diem basis
• Able to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved GNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident rights
• Proficient in assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Accurate documentation and time management skills
• Infection control practices and safe use of PPE
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate changes in condition
• Teamwork and interpersonal skills for positive resident and staff interactions
