Contract Type: Per-Diem

Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, sterile supplies, and equipment
Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons efficiently and safely during procedures
Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and operating room protocols
Assist with room turnover and ensure accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments
Collaborate with perioperative team members to anticipate needs and support patient safety
Document perioperative care and communicate effectively during handoffs

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or completion of an accredited surgical technologist program
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or ability to obtain promptly
Prior operating room experience preferred, especially in busy surgical settings
Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and perioperative staff
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.; local credentialing as required by facility

Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent
High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance
Familiarity with common surgical instruments and procedural workflows
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and adapt quickly during procedures
Good manual dexterity and organizational skills
Strong communication skills for clear handoffs and team coordination
Basic understanding of OR documentation and supply management
