Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environment and instruments prior to procedures
Assist the surgical team during cases by passing instruments and anticipating needs
Perform instrument counts and accurate documentation to support patient safety
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot sterile instrumentation and equipment
Participate in orientation, training, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience
Strong attention to sterile technique, detail, and patient safety
Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and perioperative staff

Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent
High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of sterile supply handling and operating room protocols
Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and procedural workflows
Effective communication skills for clear teamwork in high-paced settings
Good organizational skills and accuracy in documentation and counts
Comfortable with clinical equipment setup and basic troubleshooting
