Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately on arrival to the ED
• Deliver focused emergency nursing care, including medication administration and wound care
• Monitor and reassess patients, escalating concerns to providers when needed
• Collaborate with the ED team, ancillary services, and inpatient units for seamless care transitions
• Document clinical findings and interventions clearly and promptly in the patient record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Contribute to a culture of safety and quality by following protocols and participating in improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NH licensure preferred or compact RN where applicable)
• Minimum clinical ED experience preferred for per diem shifts
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtained soon after hire
• Ability to pass facility credentialing and background checks
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and time management skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency department setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid assessment
• IV therapy, medication administration, and basic procedures common to ED
• Cardiac and respiratory monitoring skills
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with electronic health records and clear clinical documentation
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize multiple high-acuity patients
