Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on occupational therapy services under the direction of an OTR to help patients reach meaningful goals
• Assist with assessments, gather patient histories, and contribute to individualized care plans
• Implement therapeutic interventions and adaptive equipment training to improve independence in ADLs
• Document patient progress clearly and timely to keep the team aligned
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to promote continuity of care
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, safety strategies, and functional techniques
• Maintain a safe, organized therapy space and ensure equipment is clean and ready for use

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
• Current California COTA registration/license or ability to obtain state registration
• BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable starting ASAP and committing to a 13-week travel contract
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Previous experience in acute care, outpatient, or rehab settings preferred

Education

• Completion of an accredited COTA/OTA program (Associate degree or diploma)

Knowledge & Skills

• Working knowledge of ADL/IADL training and adaptive/assistive equipment
• Familiarity with common therapeutic techniques and clinical documentation
• Solid clinical reasoning and time-management skills
• Ability to build rapport quickly with patients and caregivers
• Comfort collaborating in an interdisciplinary team environment
