Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and process tissue specimens through embedding and microtomy with precision
• Perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) and special stains to support accurate diagnoses
• Operate and maintain digital pathology systems and Roche equipment effectively
• Accurately document all specimen handling and results in Epic Beaker
• Follow quality control, safety, and laboratory protocols to ensure reliable results
• Collaborate with the lab team and technical coordinator to optimize workflow
• Support department orientation and contribute to a professional lab environment

Qualifications

• Certified Histotechnician (HT) or Certified Histotechnologist (HTL) via ASCP required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• 3 years of histology experience preferred (minimum 2 years required)
• Familiarity with Epic Beaker (LIS/EMR) and experience with Roche instrumentation
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and QC
• Weekend and holiday availability as staffing requires
• Valid driver's license to meet 60-mile radius requirement for onboarding

Education

• Associates degree preferred

• Routine histology techniques including embedding and microtomy
• Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and a variety of special stains
• Digital pathology workflows and image management
• Epic Beaker LIS/EMR documentation and charting
• Hands-on experience with Roche laboratory equipment
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and teamwork
