Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered emergency nursing care following ANA standards
• Perform thorough assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes
• Use EPIC to document care, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and manage patient flow
• Support safe patient handling: assist with lifting, transfers, and transport by wheelchair or stretcher
• Maintain required certifications and participate in competency testing and exams
• Adhere to infection control and vaccination policies to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Emergency Medicine experience required
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
• EPIC proficiency required
• Ability to assist with patient lifting, transfers, and stretcher/wheelchair transport
• English proficiency required
• Compliance with COVID-19 and influenza vaccination requirements and hospital health screenings

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation skills
• Emergency Department workflows and triage principles
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
• Competence in basic and specialty life support protocols (BLS, PALS, ACLS)
• Stroke identification and NIH Stroke certification knowledge
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Clear communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
