Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Continuously assess and monitor patient status and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and manage complex infusions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate and support families during stressful and critical moments
• Document care thoroughly in the electronic health record and contribute to clear handoffs
• Participate in orientation and unit-based competency training to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Ohio or eligibility to obtain Ohio licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required or willingness to obtain during onboarding
• Clinical experience in pediatric or critical care nursing preferred
• Ability to complete facility credentialing and background checks
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team approach

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric critical care assessment and monitoring
• Experience with ventilator care and advanced respiratory support
• Safe medication administration and infusion pump competency
• Familiarity with pediatric dosing and emergency protocols
• Comfortable with electronic charting and clear clinical documentation
• Calm decision-making in high-acuity situations and strong family-centered communication
