Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients with compassion and precision
Administer respiratory treatments and therapies according to physician orders
Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including ventilators and nebulizers
Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute care plans
Document patient assessments, treatments, and responses accurately in the medical record
Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and home equipment use
Participate in orientation and training to maintain competency and share best practices

Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Therapist credential (CRT or RRT) — state licensure required (Ohio licensure expected)
Current BLS certification; ACLS/PALS preferred or willing to obtain
Experience caring for pediatric patients or a demonstrated willingness to specialize in pediatrics
Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-centered mindset
Ability to pass facility onboarding and orientation

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (Bachelor’s preferred where applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric respiratory assessment and intervention
Airway management and ventilator support
Proficiency with respiratory equipment and troubleshooting
Infection control practices and patient safety
Clear documentation and effective communication with families and care teams
