Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead clinical operations for nursing — set the standard for resident care and staff performance
- Oversee nursing staff: recruit, mentor, coach and evaluate to build a strong team
- Develop and implement care plans that ensure quality outcomes and compliance with regulations
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain documentation standards across the unit
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident-centered care
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and monitor performance metrics
- Manage incident reporting, corrective action plans, and continuous staff education
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state licensure required)
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in long-term care or similar setting preferred
- Director of Nursing experience or demonstrated nursing leadership skills
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for long-term care facilities
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Background checks and facility-required clearances (to be completed prior to start)
Education
- Active RN licensure required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical judgment and hands-on nursing skills
- Experience with long-term care clinical standards and regulatory compliance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills — able to lead and inspire staff
- Competence with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
- Ability to manage staffing, scheduling and operational needs effectively
- Skilled at conflict resolution, coaching, and building high-performing teams
