Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg pediatric unit
• Assess, monitor and document patient conditions and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions and follow-up needs
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to unit policies and regulatory standards
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or eligibility for licensure
• Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg nursing with pediatric patients
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS/PALS as required or preferred by unit
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to work effectively with families and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to pass facility background checks and meet onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric Med/Surg nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
• Skilled in patient assessment, IV therapy and medication administration
• Familiarity with infection control standards and safe patient handling
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
