Contract Type: Per-Diem

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care on a Med/Surg unit
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
Maintain accurate documentation and uphold facility standards and policies

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Louisiana or compact license as applicable)
Clinical experience or training in medical-surgical nursing; comfort with 12-hour shift care
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS or specialty certifications a plus
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to pass facility credentialing and any required background checks

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Medical-surgical nursing knowledge and patient assessment skills
Medication administration and IV therapy familiarity
Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation skills
Ability to prioritize, triage and manage multiple patients safely
Strong teamwork, communication and patient education abilities
Basic familiarity with common inpatient monitoring and equipment
