Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care on the MedSurg/PCU unit and telemetry monitoring area
• Assess patients and deliver tailored education to patients and families using appropriate teaching methods
• Implement and document infection control and isolation procedures, following standard precautions
• Follow restraint policy correctly: apply preventative measures, evaluate, and document appropriately
• Operate, troubleshoot, and follow procedures for repair or access manuals for essential equipment
• Maintain accurate, complete clinical documentation of patient status, interventions and responses
• Complete and verify physician orders in a timely manner and perform 24-hour order checks when assigned
• Give thorough change-of-shift report and communicate clearly with other departments and physicians
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, supplies and ensure readiness of patient care areas
• Flex between departments as needed to support patient care and unit staffing

Qualifications

• Active Washington nursing license (WA) — must be current and in good standing
• Registered Nurse (RN) with MedSurg and PCU/Telemetry experience
• Proven ability to manage telemetry monitoring and respond to changes in patient condition
• Comfortable with equipment operation, basic troubleshooting and accessing manuals
• Knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures and proper documentation practices
• Experience following restraint policies and documenting appropriately
• Strong communication skills for clear handoffs, physician reporting and team coordination
• Ability to flex between departments and work independently on night shifts
