Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a 28-bed emergency department with trauma and cardiac monitoring capabilities
• Assess, triage, and stabilize patients presenting with acute medical, traumatic, or behavioral health needs
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret rhythm changes to guide interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, trauma teams, and behavioral health staff to coordinate timely patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly
• Advocate for patient safety and effective handoffs during shift changes
• Support a fast-paced environment by managing high patient turnover with calm and efficiency
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and team communication initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by the assignment start date
• Experience working in emergency/trauma nursing (experience with cardiac monitoring and behavioral health patients preferred)
• Comfort working nights in a fast-paced, high turnover emergency department
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
• Current basic life support certification or readiness to obtain as required by facility (verify facility-specific certs during onboarding)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and trauma care experience
• Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Behavioral health patient management in the ED setting
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills
• Familiarity with triage processes and emergency documentation
