Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in the assigned unit
• Assess patient status, monitor vital signs, and report changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Document patient care thoroughly and maintain accurate charts in the facility system
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a positive healing environment

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in New Mexico or eligible to obtain state licensure
• Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse credential as noted by the facility
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or ability to obtain quickly
• Clinical experience in a hospital or skilled nursing setting is preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN) or accredited nursing program (RN if applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medication administration and safe nursing practices
• Comfortable performing patient assessments, wound care, and basic procedures
• Proficient at documentation and learning electronic medical record systems
• Infection control, patient safety, and regulatory compliance awareness
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and bedside manner
