Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents at Cedar Ridge Center
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately during your shift
- Monitor and assess changes in patient condition and intervene appropriately
- Document care thoroughly and clearly in the patient record
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate resident care plans
- Educate residents and families with empathy and clear communication
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and infection control practices
- Support unit operations during admissions, transfers, and critical events
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Maine licensure or eligibility for licensure required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred when applicable
- Experience caring for adults in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings preferred
- Comfortable with medication administration, assessment, and common nursing procedures
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Reliable for travel assignment requirements and able to integrate quickly with the care team
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Medication administration and documentation accuracy
- Familiarity with wound care and common long-term care interventions
- Basic IV maintenance and emergency response skills
- Clear, professional communication with patients, families, and staff
- Ability to use electronic medical records and follow documentation standards
- Time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
