Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Bear Canyon Rehab Center
• Assess patient condition, monitor vital signs and respond to changes
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
• Document patient status and interventions clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications and discharge instructions
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a positive healing environment

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license in New Mexico or compact state eligibility
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous acute care or rehab nursing experience preferred
• Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills, plus a teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in nursing assessments and medication administration
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documentation systems
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and remain calm under pressure
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Familiarity with rehab nursing practices and interdisciplinary collaboration
