Roles & Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens accurately and safely from patients using established phlebotomy techniques
- Label and document specimens precisely to maintain chain of custody and specimen integrity
- Prepare and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supply inventory for smooth clinic operations
- Provide compassionate, respectful care and clear communication to patients during collection
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
- Coordinate with nursing and lab staff to ensure timely processing and delivery of specimens
- Participate in orientation and any required training to maintain competency and compliance
Qualifications
- Experience or training in phlebotomy (role listed as PHLEB)
- Ability to work the scheduled shift: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
- Available for the assignment period (starts 2026-03-30 through 2026-10-04) and the 1-week orientation
- Comfort working in a correctional facility environment (CCWF - Central California Women's Facility)
Knowledge & Skills
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection fundamentals
- Accurate specimen labeling and documentation
- Basic patient communication and comfort techniques
- Infection control and safety awareness
- Team coordination with nursing and lab personnel
