Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Perform safe transfer and mobility assistance, keeping patient dignity front and center
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
- Support infection control practices and facility safety standards every shift
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
- T-CNA or Travel CNA experience is a plus and fits this role well
- Open, flexible availability to pick up PRN shifts across the block schedule
- Comfortable working 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM night shifts and adapting to varying schedules
- Strong communication skills and an upbeat, team-focused attitude
Education
- CNA certification (state-appropriate) required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with ADLs, transfers, and basic patient care
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Basic charting and documentation skills, done clearly and timely
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy long-term care setting
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
