Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, direct patient care to promote comfort and recovery
- Administer medications and treatments according to facility policy and physician orders
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient status, reporting changes promptly
- Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians and the care team to deliver coordinated care
- Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges to ensure smooth transitions
- Educate patients and families about care plans and self-care instructions
- Maintain infection control practices and a safe environment for patients and staff
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in North Carolina
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN/LVN certificate or diploma)
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain promptly
- Valid immunizations and any facility-required health documentation
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Previous experience in a similar clinical setting is a plus
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN/LVN certificate or diploma)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and basic nursing procedures
- Monitoring and interpreting vital signs and patient observations
- Accurate clinical documentation and charting in an EHR
- Infection control and patient safety practices
- Time management, prioritization and teamwork
- Patient and family education with clear, empathetic communication
