Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, high-quality respiratory care for patients in the medical unit
Administer oxygen therapy and manage airway devices according to protocols
Assess respiratory status and perform treatments such as nebulization and chest physiotherapy
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment
Document patient assessments, treatments, and response clearly and accurately
Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to develop and adjust care plans
Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

Active RCP credential (Respiratory Care Practitioner) — required
Available for the required orientation week prior to starting
Comfortable working in a correctional facility setting (Centinela State Prison)
Strong clinical judgment and solid hands-on respiratory care skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently during assigned shift

Education

Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program (Associate degree or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

Ventilator management and basic ventilator troubleshooting
Airway management, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medication delivery
Assessment of respiratory status and interpretation of basic ABGs
Infection control practices and safe patient handling
Clear clinical documentation and effective communication with the care team
