Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess incoming emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Manage care in a fast-paced 28-bed ER including 4 trauma bays and 22 cardiac monitor rooms
• Stabilize and coordinate treatment for trauma and critical patients in the trauma bay
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes with timely interventions
• Provide compassionate care for behavioral health patients in designated rooms
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute patient care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly and promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Hawaii required by assignment start (travelers must apply upon offer if not yet licensed)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
• Experience in Emergency Department nursing, including trauma bay and cardiac monitoring
• Comfort with fast-paced patient turnover and team-oriented care
• Experience with 12-hour shifts preferred
• Preferred certifications: Procedural Sedation, TMCC, EMPC

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
• Proficiency with cardiac monitor interpretation and telemetry management
• Trauma care protocols and rapid stabilization techniques
• Behavioral health patient handling and de-escalation strategies
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Accurate EMR documentation and charting practices
• Pediatric emergency care knowledge
