Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and deliver individualized physical therapy treatments to help patients regain mobility and independence
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions including exercise, manual therapy, and functional training
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to achieve meaningful outcomes
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, families, and caregivers to coordinate care
- Document clinical findings, treatment plans, and progress in the facility’s medical records accurately and timely
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, safety strategies, and injury prevention to support long-term recovery
Qualifications
- Active California Physical Therapist license (PT). PTA candidates should hold a current California PTA license.
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Excellent clinical reasoning and hands-on treatment skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to engage patients and families
- Willingness to pass required background checks and pre-employment screening
- Previous experience in inpatient/outpatient rehab or related settings is a plus
Education
- Physical Therapist: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent from an accredited program preferred
- Physical Therapist Assistant: Associate degree from an accredited PTA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of mobility assessment, therapeutic exercise, and manual techniques
- Skilled in restorative care, fall prevention, and functional mobility training
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting outcomes
- Ability to develop measurable goals and convey progress to patients and team members
- Strong organizational skills and time management in a fast-paced clinical setting
