Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults and/or older adult populations
• Assess patient condition, develop nursing plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Identify and escalate changes in patient condition to ensure timely interventions
• Participate in shift handoffs and contribute to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or a valid multistate compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred where applicable
• Current clinical experience in acute care settings is preferred
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Strong clinical judgment, good documentation habits, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid assessment and critical thinking skills for acute care
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and team members
• Time management, prioritization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Patient education and discharge planning skills
