Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition and create compassionate, individualized care plans
- Provide skilled nursing care for rehabilitation patients, including monitoring progress
- Administer medications safely and document all care accurately
- Coordinate with rehab therapists and interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient goals
- Educate patients and families on care plans, recovery expectations, and safe transitions
- Advocate for patient needs and ensure high standards of clinical practice
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) credential — licensed in New Mexico or eligible for licensure
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Comfort working in a rehabilitation setting; clinical familiarity with rehab patients is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
- Professionalism, reliability, and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid patient assessment and clinical judgment
- Medication administration and adherence to safety protocols
- Wound care and rehabilitative nursing principles
- Clear documentation practices and comfort with electronic medical records
- Ability to teach and support patients and families through recovery
