Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — help with bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Assist nursing staff with daily care plans and follow-through on assigned tasks
- Observe and report changes in residents' conditions promptly to the care team
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure dignity during feeding and personal care
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and communicate effectively with team members
- Help create a warm, safe environment that promotes comfort and independence
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
- Must be local to the Orono area (LOCAL ONLY) and able to travel to the facility as needed
- Comfortable working the listed daytime shift (6:30 AM - 2:45 PM)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; reliability and a positive attitude
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background check, and any required training
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamental resident care techniques and safe patient handling
- Basic vital signs monitoring and reporting changes to licensed staff
- Respectful, person-centered care with attention to dignity and privacy
- Clear documentation and charting practices
- Effective communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Infection control and standard precautions awareness
