Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care to residents and patients with dignity and respect
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document per facility policy
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to the care team
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care plans
- Perform skilled nursing tasks and assist with activities of daily living
- Maintain accurate, timely charting and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in safety and infection control initiatives to keep patients and staff safe
- Support admissions, discharges, and transfers smoothly and professionally
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (must be valid for practice in Maine)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
- Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or a similar clinical setting preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
- Ability to pass facility onboarding, background checks, and health screening
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN diploma or certificate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medication administration and documentation best practices
- Skilled in vital sign assessment, wound care basics, and ADL support
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting standards
- Good clinical judgment, time management, and prioritization skills
- Compassionate communication with patients, families, and the care team
