Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor Lead and Senior Technologists and provide indirect oversight of the technical team to ensure excellent patient care
• Maintain and enforce image quality control standards and departmental policies to deliver consistent, high-quality diagnostic imaging
• Participate in financial and operational management tasks, including staffing to meet budgets and productivity targets
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, ACR, Title 17 & 22)
• Serve as a liaison between patients, families, physicians and care teams to troubleshoot and improve the patient experience
• Assist the Manager of Radiology with program development, performance improvement and resource allocation recommendations
• Provide hands-on diagnostic imaging and education to patients, families, students and staff when needed
• Complete timely staff evaluations and support staff development, progressive discipline, and performance management

Qualifications

• Current full Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by the California Department of Health Services or a current ARRT license
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum five years as a working Diagnostic Technologist in an acute-care setting
• Minimum two years supervisory experience in an acute-care setting; 3–5 years supervisory/managerial experience desired
• Certification in a specialized imaging area (MRI, NMT, etc.) is a plus
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to motivate and delegate respectfully
• Ability to perform essential clinical functions and maintain technical competencies

Education

• Associate Degree (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of Joint Commission standards, ACR compliance, and Title 17 & 22 regulations
• Thorough understanding of human anatomy, patient care, positioning and principles of radiographic exposure
• Proficiency in image quality control, radiation physics, radiation protection and radiobiology
• Experience with performance improvement, operational management and staffing workflows
• Skills in staff development, progressive discipline, and fostering a patient-centered department culture
